SWPU Team Won 5th Place in 2023 National Kabaddi Championship

From June 1stto 6th, the 2023 National Kabaddi Championship hosted by the National Kabaddi Sports Promotion Committee under the Social Sports Guide Center of the General Administration of Sport of China was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The event featured 18 teams from various provinces and cities across the country, and SWPU team won the 5thplace.

This championship is also the first high-profile national Kabaddi event in China since its inclusion in the Asian Games. This competition strictly followed the International Kabaddi Federation's latest competition rules and regulations and consisted of two events, namely men's kabaddi (below 85kg) and women's kabaddi (below 75kg), with a total of two gold medals on offer.

In the face of strong competitors, SWPU players made an all-out effort and won the 5thplace.

In order to have a better competitive performance in the event, the players persisted in training. During the two months of pre-match training, they kept the frequency of at least five times a week, and they even sacrificed their spare time for additional training. After the game, the coaches and players said that they have accumulated experience and gained confidence in this event, and would keep training hard in the future to win more honors for Southwest Petroleum University.
